The brief

Signal's brand was beautiful in the deck and incoherent everywhere else. Each surface was rebuilt from scratch, and tone drifted with every engineer.

What we designed

A single source of truth:

• Design tokens in one repository, consumed by web, product, and document templates.
• A typographic and motion system encoded as code, not PDFs.
• Versioned releases so teams can adopt updates on their own schedule.

The outcome

One system now compiles to 14 surfaces with consistent typography, motion, and tone. Engineering velocity on brand-impacted work doubled.
